FOGGED WINDOW OR PATIO DOOR

FOGGED WINDOW:
Technical term ... Sealed Insulated Glass unit

Symptom: No matter how often you clean, the glass still looks dirty or there is visible moisture between the panes of glass.

Cause: The seal between the two panes of glass has broken allowing moisture to enter. With heating and cooling, the moisture condenses, leaving mineral deposits. The fogging will grow worse over time.

Solution: Because of the labor involved, it is easier and less expensive to replace the glass rather than try to take apart the unit, clean out the moisture, and reseal. Arrow's expert installers will take apart the frame and replace it with new glass that has a ten-year manufacturer's material warranty against seal failure or fogging over.

Approximate cost for windows: Measure the width of the glass and height of the glass in inches. Round up to the next even inch and multiply the width times the height in inches and divide by 144 to get the square fee. Cost of glass is $11.50 per square foot. Add 7.50% sales tax on the materials. Labor on a typical window of $40. This will give you a rough idea of cost.
