SCREENS
RIPPED SCREENS RAPIDLY REPAIRED OR REPLICATED

SCREEN REPAIR:
The screening material comes in either fiber or wire. We suggest using wire. It is only about 10 cents more per square foot, but it holds up much longer. Some types of bugs tend to find fiber tasty. To find the approximate cost, multiply the width in inches times the height in inches (round up to the next even inch) and divide by 144 to find square footage. Multiply the square foot times .75 to get approximate cost of materials. Add $9.50 for labor. There may be additional cost to straighten out bent rails, broken corners, or replace the slide bolts. Alternatively, if you have a Javascript enabled browser, you may just plug in your measurements below, and we'll compute it for you using the above formula.

REPLACING A LOST SCREEN:
Yes, we can make some new screens. If one of your windows is missing a screen, go to another window of the same size, remove its screen and see if it fits in the window where the screen is missing. If it fits, bring it in to Arrow Glass and we'll see if we can reproduce it. If you don't have an identical screen, you're probably out of luck. We can attempt to measure the opening, but it is very difficult to get a tight fit. If you have some of the pieces of the missing screen (side rails for example) save them and bring them to Arrow. Sometimes we can fill in the blanks.
RESCREENING A SCREEN DOOR:
The screen portion of a door is typically either 36" (3 feet) or 48" (4 feet) wide with a standard height. Use the table below to estimate your total cost, noting that these are prices for wire mesh. Fiber costs slightly less.
36" Wide Door 48" Wide Door
Aluminum $30 $36
Wood $34 $40
